W C Skinner

W.C. Skinner, age 91, of Cadiz, KY, passed away Saturday, December 10, 2016, at Shady Lawn Nursing Center in Cadiz, KY.  Mr. Skinner had worked as a construction superintendent with John Woodruff Construction, and for many years in the coal mines for Jim Smith Construction. Upon his retirement from construction, he operated W.C. & D Locksmith for many years. He was a member of Cadiz Masonic Lodge 121; a Kentucky Colonel; lifetime member of the NRA; Local 181 Operating Engineers Union; and the National Locksmiths Association.

He is survived by: three sons - Randy Skinner & wife, Marisa, Kuttawa, KY; Bobby C. Skinner, Cadiz, KY; and Steve Skinner & wife, Cynthia, Frankfort, KY; seven grandchildren - Jeremy Orem, Dusty Whitaker, Tammie Johar, Scott Skinner,  Nicole Choate, Matthew R. Skinner, and Kyle Skinner; eighteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; one sister - Christine Adams, Hopkinsville, KY; one sister-in-law - Virginia Alexander; and very special friends - the Mayes family.  He was preceded in death by: his parents - Walter Calvin & Lona Mae Thomas Skinner; his wife - Doris Skinner; two brothers  - Franklin Skinner and Lacy Skinner; and two sisters - Virginia Collier and Pauline Bridges. 

Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main Street in Cadiz, KY, where the family will receive friends after 4:00 PM  Monday, December 12, 2016, with a Masonic Service to begin at 6:00 PM.  The Funeral  Service will be at Goodwin Funeral Home at  1:00 PM Tuesday, December 13, 2016, with the Rev. Mike Boyd officiating.  Burial will follow at Lawrence Cemetery in Cadiz, KY.
