William Thomas, "Col. Tom" Guerrant passed away at his home on Saturday, December 31, 2011. Col. Tom was a success in three careers. After enlisting in the United States Army in August, 1965, in March 1966 Sgt Guerrant was selected for officers candidate school, Ft. Still, Oklahoma. He was commissioned 2nd Lt and proudly served a total of 271/2 years. He served in Vietnam, So. Germany(Pershing missiles), and the Desert Storm/Shield Conflict. He retired having lived around the world on eleven different military installations. Tom Served as a Chief Instructor/Rider Coach for the national motorcycle safety foundation. From 1997-2002 , he served the Tennessee Highway Patrol as the State coordinator for the rider education program. The State program won the MSF Outstanding State Program for 2002. For four years, Tom was on the sales team at Pennyrile Ford, Hopkinsville, KY. He was recognized March 19, 2010, in the Ford employee excellance program by Alan Mulally, President and CEO, Ford Motor. Tom served the Lord in life and was a member of Canton Baptist Church. He is survived by Wife of 45 years, Linda Guerrant of Cadiz, One Daughter and Grandson of Japan, Nieces, Sutah & Christie Hoskins Supakit of Raymore, MO, Rick & Jeanette Hoskins Wolfe of Skidmore, MO, Cpt. Martin & Ivy Wolfe Small & children of Ft. Riley, KS, Larry & Sandy Lippincott Parish of Gladstone, MO, Rod & Theresa Hoskins Wostenberg of San Antonio, TX, Cousin, Bruce & Lina Daniel of Lenexa, KS & he waits to be reunited with countless numbers of friends.. He was preceded in death by his Parents William Upton and Jeanne Thomas Guerrant.
Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main St. -P.O. Box 2050 Cadiz, KY 42211-031 in Cadiz, KY where the family will receive friends after 4:00 PM on Monday, January 2, 2012. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 PM on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at Goodwin Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Cannon and Rev. Damien Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West with Military Honors.
