Tom Bennett, age 76, of Cadiz, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2017, at Baptist Health Hospital in Madisonville, Kentucky. Mr. Bennett retired after thirty years from the Chrysler Corporation in Belvidere, Illinois where he worked as a welder. Mr. Bennett proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps and was a member of Rocky Ridge Baptist Church in Cadiz, as well as the Cadiz Lions Club.
He is survived by: his wife of 50 years - Arkie M. Bennett, Cadiz; three sons - Edward L. Bennett (Cindi), James Roberts (Lora), and Michael Roberts (Debra), all of Belvidere, Illinois; six grandchildren - Kara Lea Bennett (Paul), Amanda Roberts, Travis Roberts, Chelsea Wells, Nick Wells, and Timothy Bennett; three great grandchildren - Ivan Sink, Paul Bennett, and Cameron Bennett; and three sisters - Frieda Bennett and Linda Carter (Ronnie), both of Muhlenberg County, Kentucky; and Sharon Sullivan, Hopkins County, Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by: his parents - Edward and Flora Uzzle Bennett; one son - Bill J. Roberts; one grandson - Michael R. Roberts; and four brothers - Robert Bennett, James H. Bennett, Jerry L. Bennett, and Cecil Bennett.
Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home & Crematory, 138 Main Street in Cadiz, where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday, January 30, 2017. The funeral service will be at Goodwin Funeral Home & Crematory at 10:00 AM Tuesday, January 31, 2017 with the Reverend Steve Hardy and Reverend Bob McIntosh officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
