Thomas Patterson "T.P." Sholar, age 82, Cadiz, KY, born March 11, 1930 in Trigg Co., KY, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2012, at his home in Cadiz, KY. Mr. Sholar was a retired educator. He began his teaching career in Trigg Co. at the New Hope School and after returning form the Korean War, where he had served as a librarian, he began serving as the librarian in the Trigg Co. School System and later went on to retire from Murray State University, where he taught in the Library Science Department for 22 years. He was a US Army Korean War veteran and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church where he had taught Sunday School. He was survived by: Brother - Belmont Sholar, Hopkinsville, KY, Nephew & Wife - Keith & Ginnie Sholar, Hopkinsville, KY, Niece - Marsha Bourne, Hopkinsville, KY, Two Great Nieces- Kelsey Bourne, Hopkinsville, KY & Courtney Bourne, Hopkinsville, KY, Great Nephew - Jamison Sholar, Hopkinsville, KY. He was preceded in death by: Father - William Clifton Sholar, Mother - Lonnie Mae Sowell Sholar & One Sister - Imogene Sholar.
Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main St. -P.O. Box 2050 Cadiz, KY 42211-031 in Cadiz, KY where the family will receive friends after 4:00 PM on Saturday, July 21, 2012. Funeral Service will be at Goodwin Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Sunday, July 22, 2012 with the Reverend Mark Thweatt & Reverend Don Mathis officiating.
