James Steven Coombs Francis, age 60, of Cadiz, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at his home in Cadiz. Mr. Francis was employed as a Social Security Disability Representative for over 29 years. He was a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation Trigg County Longspurs Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution Col. Stephen Trigg Chapter, and Wounded Warriors Outdoors. Steve was also a member of the 1971-1972 Trigg County State Football Championship team. He was an active member of Crossroads Fellowship Church, where he served as a deacon.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Becky Turner Francis, Cadiz; three daughters, Megan Francis, Atlanta, Georgia, Kelly Hendricks ("Pee Wee"), Oak Grove, Kentucky, and Michelle Wease, Cadiz; six grandchildren, Brittney Hendricks, Austin Hendricks, Emilee Hendricks, David Wease, Justen Wease, and Jacob Wease; four great grandchildren; mother-in-law, Nancy Turner, Canton, Kentucky; step mother, Loralene Francis, Cadiz; father, James "Don" Coombs (Betty), Syracuse, New York; two brothers, C.A. Francis, II, Cadiz, and Wesley Francis (Arlene), La Porte, Indiana; two half brothers, Scot Coombs (Melanie), Newark Valley, New York, and Jody Coombs (Tracy), Groton, New York; and two half sisters, Teresa Miller, Albany, New York, and Cindy Geesey (Dave), Fuquay Varina, North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Bernadine Francis, and father, Robert "Bobby" Francis.
Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main Street in Cadiz, where the family will receive friends after 4:00 PM on Monday, June 19, 2017. Funeral services will be at Goodwin Funeral Home at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, with Reverend Mike Boyd and Reverend Geoff Baggett officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Trigg Memory Acres in Cadiz.
