Robert H. McAtee, age 96, of Cadiz, KY, passed away Friday, October 28, 2016, at his home in Cadiz, KY. Mr. McAtee was a life-long farmer and a prominent advocate of agriculture and conservation. He proudly served in the US Army and was a WWII veteran. He was a life-time member of Cadiz United Methodist Church in Cadiz, KY, where he served the church in many capacities. He previously served on the John L. Street Library Board, Southern States Cooperative Board of Directors, Trigg County Agriculture Extension Board, and the Board of Directors of the Trigg County Farm Bureau. He is survived by: two daughters - Paula Dickerson & husband, Dan, Cadiz, KY; and Mary Jane "Sissy" Stewart, Cadiz, KY; seven grandchildren - CW4 Robert "Buddy" Maddox & wife, Carol, Fort Hood, TX; Sarah Elizabeth Shepherd & husband, Hunter, Birmingham, AL; Dr. Marissa Stewart Jaynes & husband, Mark, Paducah, KY; Andy Stewart & Taylor Ward, Gracey, KY; Katie Faulk & husband, Doug, Ozark, AL; Ben Maddox, Auburn, AL; and Charlie Maddox & wife, Avigail, Las Vegas, NV; thirteen great grandchildren - Israel Maddox, Sarah-Grace Maddox, Jonathan Maddox, Kendrick Maddox, Will Shepherd, Elizabeth Shepherd, Tucker Jaynes, Foster Jaynes, Paige Faulk, Kaegan Faulk, Perry Faulk, Henry Maddox, and Rhett Maddox; and two sisters-in-law - Freda McAtee and Billie Martin. He was preceded in death by: his parents - Clarence & Janie Malone McAtee; his wife - Manthus Martin McAtee; two brothers- William McAtee and Frank McAtee; and four sisters - Mary Alice McAtee, Elizabeth McAtee, Ann McAtee, and Jane McAtee Clawson. The family will receive friends after 4:00 PM on Monday, October 31, 2016, at the Cadiz United Methodist Church, 482 Lakota Drive in Cadiz, KY. The Funeral Service will be at Cadiz United Methodist Church at 10:00 AM Tuesday, November 1, 2016, with Dr. Scott Wilson and Rev. Jamus Redd officiating, with eulogies given by Sarah Shepherd and Dr. Marissa Stewart-Jaynes. An additional visitation will begin at Cadiz United Methodist Church the day of the funeral service, Tuesday, at 8:00 AM until the funeral time of 1o:00 AM. Burial with full military honors will follow the funeral service at East End Cemetery in Cadiz, KY.
