Rexie Gaylon Skinner, age 67, of Cadiz, Kentucky, passed away Friday, October 13, 2017, at Trigg County Hospital in Cadiz. Mr. Skinner retired from Metalsa/Dana after 19 years of employment and was a United Auto Workers member. Gaylon was a member of Pugh Flat Baptist Church in Trigg County.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Christina Skinner of Cadiz; three sons, Steve Skinner, Jared (Tiffani) Skinner, and Kaleb Skinner, all of Cadiz; two daughters, Angie (James) Martin of Cadiz, and Kerstin (Chad) Head of Nashville, Tennessee; eight grandchildren, Evan Skinner, Brookelyn (Austin) Skinner, Derek (Julianna) Martin, Kevin (Emily) Martin, Emalyn Head, Carter Skinner, Christopher Skinner, and Kylee Skinner; six great grandchildren, Hadleigh Martin, Brayleigh Martin, Carden Martin, Aleigha Skinner, Keaton Skinner, and Mirah Green; three brothers, Johnny (Donna) Skinner of Cadiz, Tim (Nancy) Skinner, of Dayton, Ohio, and Kenneth Skinner of Owensboro, Kentucky; and three sisters, Linda (Wallace) Choate, Brenda Taylor, and Donna (Terry) Allen, all of Cadiz.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ricks Skinner, Jr. and Jewell Cheatham Skinner; one brother, Bobby Randall Skinner; and one sister, Sylvia Calhoun.
Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main Street in Cadiz, where the family will receive friends after 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 17, 2017. Funeral services will be at Goodwin Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 18, 2017, with the Reverend Nickey Knight officiating. Burial will follow in New Skinner Cemetery in Trigg County.
