Paxton D. Smith, age 65, of Eddyville, KY, passed away Sunday, December 2, 2012, at his home in Eddyville, KY. Mr. Smith was a timber cutter and of the Baptist Faith. He was a member of the VFW post No. 5595 in Princeton, KY , the Rosine Masonic Lodge in Ohio Co., KY and was a US Army veteran having served during the Vietnam Conflict. He was survived by: Wife of 45 years - Betty Smith, Eddyville, KY, Two Daughters- Penny Smith, Cadiz, KY & Mary Smith, Princeton, KY, Three Sisters- Shirley Osborne, Ohio Co., KY, Dona Embry, Ohio Co., KY and Martha Riley, Ohio Co., KY, Five Grandchildren- Ashley & Mitchell Goree, Matthew & Britney Skinner, Cassie & Jesse Reed, Joshua & Robyn Harper & Lacee Hunter, Ten Great Grandchildren- Chelsea, Destiny, Haleigh, Seth, Jr., Meagan, Tristen, Trenton, Prestion, Paxton & Caleb, also surviving are several numerous Brother and Sister-In-Laws, Nieces & Nephews. He was preceded in death by: Father - James Smith, Mother - Jeanette Smith, Brother - James Thomas Smith, Three Sisters- Helen Johnson, Ruby Kuykendel & Jenny Fernadez. Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., in Cadiz, KY. A graveside service will be held at a later date at the Saratoga Methodist Church Cemetery in Lyon Co., KY.
