Nell Allen Tyler

Nell Allen Tyler, age 92, of Cadiz, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2017, at Alive Hospice in Nashville, Tennessee.  Mrs. Tyler had retired from Elk Brand Manufacturing in Cadiz after working there over 20 years.  She was a faithful and devoted member of East Cadiz Baptist Church.

She is survived by one son, Jerry Ray (Cookye) Tyler of Cadiz; two daughters, Linda (Rev. Billy Joe) Nichols and Dianne (Larry) Hill, both of Cadiz; seven grandchildren, Teressa (Wendell) Jones, Jerry Dale (Midge) Tyler, Joey (Ashley) Nichols, Jameye (April) Nichols, Todd (Michelle) Nichols, Kerry (Lori) Ford, and Heather Ford; 12 great grandchildren, Heather (Nick) Woodruff, Macy Nichols, Hannah Nichols, Wendy (Taylor) Ladd, Bryson Nichols, Presley Tyler, Jackson Vinson, Jordan Vinson, Halen Tyler, Grayson Ford, Will Nichols, and Jaydon Nichols; two great-great grandchildren, Brantley Woodruff and Briley Woodruff; and special caretakers, Hope Turner, Tammie Parrent, Wandine Bryant, and Leah Thomas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert H. and Ruth Mitchell Allen; her husband of 62 years, Lonnie Tyler; two sons, Lonnie Dale "Pippi" Tyler and one in infancy; one daughter, Pamela Jan Tyler; two sisters, Myra Dean Waits and Myrtlene Hooks; four brothers, Dewey Allen, Raymond Allen, Cecil Allen, and Chappel Allen; and a son-in-law, Jerry Ford.

Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main Street in Cadiz, where the family will receive friends after 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 5, 2017.  Funeral services will be at East Cadiz Baptist Church, 407 Third St. Ext., at  2:00 p.m. Friday, October 6, 2017, with the Reverend Lester Watson and Reverend Paul Cannon officiating. The family will also receive friends at the church from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Friday.  Burial will follow in East Cadiz Baptist Church Cemetery in Cadiz.
