Myra S. Bartee

Myra S. Bartee, age 91, of Princeton, KY, a native of Trigg Co., KY, passed away Friday, June 20, 2014, at her home in Princeton, KY.  Mrs. Bartee was a retired cook and caterer who had worked at several restaurants and nursing homes.  She was affectionately referred to as the "Cake Lady".  She was a member of Rock Front Baptist Church in Linton, KY, the Linton Homemakers Club, the James Thomas Chapter of the DAR and participated in the Trigg Co. Relay For Life. She is survived by: Two Daughters & Son-In-Law- Betty & Rev. Douglas Anderson, Princeton, KY, Ruth McElroy, Mckinney, TX,  Seven Grandchildren-Jennifer Anderson, Joel Anderson, Julie McKenzie, John Anderson, Shelagh McElroy, Lindsey Bartee & Kevin McElroy & 13 Great Grandchildren- Sarah McKenzie, Chris McKenzie, Luke McKenzie, Leah Anderson, Carley Anderson, Brannan Anderson, Braelynn Anderson, Korey McElroy, Kinan McElroy, Justus Fox, Myracle Fox, Asher Bartee & Oliver Wilson.  She was preceded in death by: Father - McKinley Shaw,  Mother - Harriet Nunn Shaw,  Husband - William David Bartee, Sr., Son - William David Bartee, Jr., Granddaughter - Shannon Leigh Bartee & Son-In-Law- Jimmie McElroy.  Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main St. -P.O. Box 2050 Cadiz, KY 42211-031 in Cadiz, KY where the family will receive friends after 4:00 PM on Sunday, June 22, 2014.  Funeral  Service will be at Goodwin Funeral Home at  11:00 AM Monday, June 23, 2014 with the Reverend Doug Anderson & Chris McKenzie officiating.  Burial will follow at Daniel Vinson Cemetery in Land Between the Lakes, KY.  Memorial Contributions can be made to:  Pennyroyal Hospice, 220 Burley Avenue, Hopkinsville, KY 42240.

Bro. Doug and Mz. can one say they are sorry one has gone to the glories of Heaven? But I know we miss them and mourn them here. Myra was a wonderful lady who showed love and kindness to everyone she met. I am honored to have known her . She was loved and will be missed dearly. My heartfelt condolences go out to the family . I look forward to seeing her again his kingdom.
