Maxie Snyder

Maxie Snyder, age 72, of Cadiz, KY, passed away Sunday, December 25, 2016, at Princeton Health and Rehabilitation Center in Princeton, KY.  Mr. Snyder retired from Bailey Lumber Co. in Cadiz, KY where he worked for over twenty years as a foreman.  After retirement, he worked at the Trigg County Recycling Center in Cadiz.  Maxie was previously a member of Rock Front Baptist Church in the Linton community of Trigg County, where he was a Sunday School teacher, church treasurer, and also served as youth leader.  Recently, he was a member of South Union Baptist Church in Trigg County.  Mr. Snyder proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

He is survived by: his wife of 48 years- Mary Jane Snyder, Cadiz, KY; two daughters - Christy Holley (Walter), Cadiz, KY; and - Wendy Ahart (Brian), Cadiz, KY; three grandchildren - Margaret Holley, Nick Ahart, and Tyler Ahart; and one sister - Barbara Saturley (Barry), Grayslake, IL.   He was preceded in death by: his parents - Jesse Ray & Mary Elizabeth Hawkins Snyder; four brothers - Tony Snyder, Henry Snyder, Jimmy Snyder, and Cecil Snyder; and two sisters - Betty Castile and Laura Walker.

Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main Street in Cadiz, KY, where the family will receive friends after 4:00 PM on  Wednesday, December 28, 2016.  The funeral service will be at Goodwin Funeral Home at  10:00 AM Thursday, December 29, 2016 with the Reverend Bob McIntosh officiating.  Burial with full military honors will follow at Atkins Cemetery in Trigg County, KY.
