Mary Grace Henderson Baker, age 88, of Cadiz, Kentucky, passed away Monday, May 1, 2017, at Barkley Plantation in Cadiz. Mrs. Baker was a homemaker and had worked at Arvin Industries in Princeton, Kentucky for over 10 years. She was a devoted member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Trigg County, where she was a Sunday School teacher, an active participant of the WMU and church choir, and formerly sang in a church quartet.
She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Merrick (Leroy), Cadiz; one daughter-in-law, Penny Mitchell (Jerry), Cadiz; three granddaughters, Andrea Holmes (Jason), Tara Davenport (Trey), and Tasha Harris (Bobby); three great grandchildren, Tristen Davenport, Titus Davenport, and Silas Harris; three step sons, Alan Baker (Connie), Cadiz, Ivan Baker (Barbara), Hopkinsville, and Ernie Baker (Jennifer), Cadiz; one step daughter-in-law, Marie Baker, Cadiz; nine step grandchildren, Robert Baker (Mandy), Alex Baker (Amy), Curtis Baker (Kate), Paxton Baker, Collin Baker (Taryn), Toby Baker, Matt Baker (Wendy), Amanda Baker, and Macy Baker; and eight step great grandchildren, Katie Baker, Lucy Baker, Micah Baker, Cody Baker, Shiloh Baker, Campbell Baker, Bennett Baker, and Ashton Baker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Mellie Gray Peal; her husband, Howard Baker; her first husband, Charles Henderson; her son, Ray Henderson; a step son, Bruce Baker; one brother, Loyd Peal; and two sisters, Myrtle Terrell and Naomi Guess.
Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main Street in Cadiz, where the family will receive friends after 4:00 PM on Thursday, May 4, 2017. The funeral service will be at Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc. at 11:00 AM Friday, May 5, 2017, with the Reverend Richard Sexton and Reverend Ronnie Sivells officiating. Burial will follow at Caldwell Blue Spring Baptist Church Cemetery in Caldwell County, Kentucky.
