Kenneth Richard Tyler

Kenneth Richard Tyler, age 88, of Cadiz, KY, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2015, at Vitas Hospice in Merritt Island, FL.  Mr. Tyler retired from Illinois Tool Works Inc. in the Chicago, IL area where he worked as a machine design engineer.  He was a WW II US Navy veteran & a member of St. Stephens Catholic Church in Cadiz, KY.  Ken was an active volunteer in the Cadiz, KY area where he participated in the Retired & Senior Volunteer Program(RSVP), local chapter of the American Red Cross & the VFW Post No. 7890. He is survived by: One Son - Tim Tyler & wife, Connie, Lakewood, CO, One Daughter - Nancy Tyler & husband, Charles Fry, Satellite Beach, FL,  Five Grandchildren, Nine Great Grandchildren & One Brother - Tom Tyler & wife, Pat, Chicago, IL.  He was preceded in death by: Parents - Joseph & Rosella Petersen Tyler, 1st  wife - Alice Millie Tyler, 2nd Wife - Eileen Tyler, Two Brothers- Jim Tyler & Howard Tyler & One Sister - Shirley Denz.  Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main St. in Cadiz, KY.  The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a Rosary Service to be held at 6:00 PM on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at St. Stephens Catholic Church, 1698 Canton Road in Cadiz, KY.  A Funeral Mass will be at St. Stephens Catholic Church at 10:00 AM Friday, August 21, 2015 with Father Gregory Trawick officiating.  Military honors will be rendered at St. Stephens Catholic Church prior the departure for the committal service in Benton, IL.  Burial will follow at 3:00 PM at the Masonic & Oddfellows Cemetery in Benton, IL.  Memorial Contributions can be made to: Helping Hands of Trigg Co., PO Box 1874, Cadiz, KY 42211.

RIP my friend, Ken Tyler. I was a member of the Arise Group, met Ken and what a fine man. So glad we corresponded back and forth even on your move to Florida. A great man has left us to be with God.
