I remember playing baseball every day during the summer with Jim (we called him JS at that time), Monroe and others from the neighborhood, Willis Burnam, Jimmy Woody and Buddy Calhoun was normally there also. Whoever was available would come, there was always a game. We played in a vacant lot beside the Lancaster home. Since those days I've moved away and only saw JS a couple of times, once was at my mother's funeral. I'm proud to have known him.
