James Rutland

James Rutland, age 91, of Cadiz, KY, passed away Monday, March 26, 2012, at Covington's Convalescent Center in Hopkinsville, KY. Mr. Rutland was a retired carpenter from TVA and was a US Marine Corp. WW II Veteran.. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, had served as chaplain and was a member of Cadiz Masonic Lodge No. 121, the Marine Corp League, VFW and the Cadiz Civitan Club. He was also a member of the Methodist Men Group and also volunteered with Agape Prison Ministry. He was active in the Kentucky Senior Games, the Trigg Co. Ham Festival Horseshoe Toss and was a former Grand Marshal of the Trigg Co. Veteran's Parade. was survived by: Wife of 64 years - Ruth Rutland, Cadiz, KY, Three Sons & Daughters-In-Law- John Rutland & Francie Bogel, Kuwait, Steve & Marcia Rutland, Enterprise, AL & David & Debby Rutland, Cadiz, KY, Two Daughters & Sons-In-Law- Sandy Rutland - Marks & Lu, Lexington, KY, Debbie Rutland, Nashville, TN & Pam & Tim Carr, Cadiz, KY, Ten Grandchildren- Aulica Monroe, Tamera Rutland, Jennie Dart, Katie Nelson, Kara Johnson, Mark Thomas, Jack Rutland, Ben Rutland, Mac Carr & Alex Carr, Great Grandchildren- Abigail Nelson, Aiden Nelson, Addison Dart, Cole Thomas, Parker Thomas, Tripp Johnson, Maddison Johnson, Emaleigh Johnson. He was preceded in death by his Parents Troy & Ocie Nora Mitchell Rutland, Brother Ralph Rutland and Three Sisters Mary Haynes, Mildred Johnson & Martha Floyd. 

Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main St. -P.O. Box 2050 Cadiz, KY 42211-031 in Cadiz, KY where the family will receive friends on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM with Masonic Services being held at 6:00 PM & on Friday from 1:30 PM until the service time at Bethel United Methodist Church. Funeral Service will be at Bethel United Methodist Church at 2:30 PM Friday, March 30, 2012 with the Reverend Reverends Kenny Rogers, O.D. Boyd & Irvin Darnall officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Cadiz, KY.
