Irene Calhoun Noel

Irene Calhoun Noel, age 97, of Hopkinsville, KY, a native and formerly of Cadiz, KY, passed away Sunday, December 25, 2016, at Christian Health Center in Hopkinsville, KY.  Mrs. Irene Noel worked as a sales clerk for several local grocery stores in Cadiz, Hopkinsville, and Bowling Green, including IGA, Kroger, and Houchens.  For many years, she was a member of Cadiz Baptist Church in Cadiz, KY, where she taught Sunday School and was an active member of the WMU.  Most recently, Mrs. Noel was the oldest member of Rich Pond Baptist Church in Bowling Green, KY.

She is survived by: one son - Perry Noel & wife, Sharrye, Alvaton, KY; one daughter - Shelia Good & husband, Jerry, Hopkinsville, KY; seven grandchildren - Erin Gibbs & husband Jess; Brenna Wiles & husband, Clint; Evan Noel & wife, Alecia; Molly Noel; Brett Crouch; Brandon Crouch & wife, Chantelle; and Philip Parker; twelve great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by: her parents - Henry  & Donie Ricks Calhoun; her husband - Owen Noel; four brothers - Rosco Calhoun, Martin Calhoun, Roy Calhoun, and Hershel Calhoun; and three sisters - Dean Taylor, Lorene Smith, and Josephine Cunningham.

Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main Street in Cadiz, KY, where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Thursday, December 29, 2016.  The funeral service will be at Goodwin Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Friday, December 30, 2016, with Brother Steve Hussung officiating.  Burial will follow at Trigg Memory Acres in Cadiz, KY.

Perry and Shelia, I just read about your mother's death. I remember her sitting in church every Sunday a couple of pews away from the organ. She was such a faithful person.
