Haydon Cameron

Haydon Cameron, age 89, of Hopkinsville, KY, a native of Trigg Co., KY, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at Western Kentucky Veteran's Center in Hanson, KY.  Mr. Cameron retired from Johnson Controls, Inc. in Cadiz, KY as an Inspection Supervisor.  He was a 75 year member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Trigg Co., KY where he taught Sunday School for over 50 years.  He was a US Air Force Korean War veteran where he served as the Crew Chief for the original SKY Blazers, which later became the Thunderbirds.  Mr. Cameron was a member of the Thunderbirds Alumni Association & also authored an autobiography called "Son of A Sharecropper". He is survived by: Wife of 58 Years - Yvonne Stewart Cameron, Hopkinsville, KY, One Son - Keith Cameron, Nashville, TN, Two Daughters- Dolores Hampton & husband, Jerald, Johnson City, TN; Linda Brashears & husband, Mike, Cerulean, KY, Two Grandchildren- Elizabeth Hampton & Cody Brashears, Three Sisters- Dorothy Folcomer, Cadiz, KY; Nancy Malone & husband, Glenn, Cadiz, KY; Ann Webster, Cadiz, KY, Two Brothers- Lee Cameron & wife, Anna Lou, Wallonia, KY; Jimmy Cameron & wife, Helen, Hampton, GA.  He was preceded in death by:  Parents - Walter Cameron & Inez Bridges Cameron, Two Sisters- Ruth Yates; Jane Gray & One Brother - Durwood Cameron.  Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main St. in Cadiz, KY where the family will receive friends after 4:00 PM on Friday, March 11, 2016.  Funeral Service will be at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 4415 Cerulean Road in Cadiz, KY at  2:00 PM Saturday, March 12, 2016 with the Reverend Don Bunch officiating. An additional visitation will be on Saturday, March 12 from 1:00 PM until the funeral time of 2:00 PM at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.  The burial with full military honors will follow the funeral service at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery in Cadiz, KY.

My love goes out to all of you with the loss of Mr. Cameron. His friendship with my dad was always special.
