Gerald D. Thomas

Gerald D. Thomas, age 83, of Shabbona, IL, a native of Trigg Co., KY, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2016, at Prairie Crossing Living and Rehabilitation Center in Shabbona, IL.  Mr. Thomas retired from Simpson Sand & Gravel Co. in St. Louis, Mo, where he worked as a welder.  He was a US Air Force Korean War veteran, a VFW & American Legion lifetime member, a Master Mason of the Fenton Masonic Lodge No. 281 in Fenton, MO & a member Donaldson Creek Baptist Church in Trigg Co., KY. He is survived by: One Son - Gerry D. Thomas & wife, Mari Gina, Vernon Hills, IL, One Daughter - Murecka Wallace & boyfriend, Michael Wingate, Hendersonville, TN, Five Grandchildren- Ethan Thomas, Noah Thomas, Codie Wallace, Autumn Wallace & Seth Wallace, Two Great Grandchildren- Tristin Wallace & Kensleigh Wallace, Two Sisters including Twin Sister- Christine Farmer, Hopkinsville, KY, Arthelia Johnson, Minneapolis, MN.  He was preceded in death by: Parents - Ewing Odell & Virgie Leona Francis Thomas.  Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main St. in Cadiz, KY.  The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, January 18, 2016 at the home of Gerry & Mari Gina Thomas, 2527 Cox Mill Road, Hopkinsville, KY 42240 & again at the home Tuesday morning, January 19, 2016 from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM.  A Graveside Funeral Service with full military honors will be at the Kentucky Veteran's Cemetery West in Hopkinsville, KY at 12:00 PM Tuesday, January 19, 2016 with burial to follow.
