Elbert “Ed” Williams

Elbert Taylor Williams, age 94, of Cadiz, Ky., died Tuesday, August 25, 2009, at Shady Lawn Nursing Center in Cadiz, Ky. 

He was a member of New Light Baptist Church, US Army Veteran serving in WWII. 

He retired from Stockton Transit Bus Line where he was a mechanic, he was also a helicopter mechanic. 

He is survived by his daughter Florence I. (Williams) Montalvo of Bethel Island, Calif., step daughters Louise Lopez & Daughter Delorse Gonsalez of Stockton, Calif., four sons, Robert "Bob" Williams of Gracey, Ky., Richard T. Williams of Salings, Calif., Steve A. Williams of Broomfield, Colo., Roy L. Williams. Twenty Two grandchildren, Forty great-grandchildren and fiive great-great grandchildren also survive. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Francis M. & Connie L. (Brown) Williams, wife Lola Romero Isbell Williams, two brothers John P. Williams & Cecil L. Williams, two sister Loucil Williams, Ruby Williams.

Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main St. -P.O. Box 2050, Cadiz, Ky., where the family will receive friends after 5:00 PM on Tuesday, September 1, 2009. 

Funeral service will be at Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc. at 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 2, 2009, Reverend John Hagan officiating.

Interment will be at Kentucky Veteran's Cemetery West in Hopkinsville, Ky. with military honors.
