Elbert Adams, age 78, of Cadiz, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at Trigg Manor in Cadiz. Mr. Adams was a life-long farmer and steward of the land. He was a United States Army veteran and a member of Wallonia Christian Church in Trigg County.
He is survived by four brothers, Jessie (Linda) Adams of Cadiz, Decatur "D.C." Adams of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, Walter "Mort" Adams of Cadiz, and David (Beth) Adams of Madisonville, Kentucky; two sisters, Iva Nell West of Cadiz, and Martha (James) Lumpkin of North Little Rock, Arkansas; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Nell Robertson Adams; two brothers, Howard Adams and Walden Adams; and two sisters, Jane Mitchell and Betty Lou Herndon.
Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main Street in Cadiz, where the family will receive friends after 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 9, 2017. Funeral services will be at Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 10, 2017, with Reverend Billy Joe Nichols and Reverend Brad Carroll officiating. Burial will follow in Adams Cemetery in Trigg County.
