Douglas Oliver, age 80, of Cadiz, KY, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN.  Mr. Oliver had retired from Hayden Lumber Co..  He was a member of New Light Baptist Church and Cadiz Masonic Lodge No. 121 where he was a past Master. He is survived by:  Wife - Margie Mitchell Oliver, Cadiz, KY, Two Sons- Steve Oliver, Paducah, KY, Mike Oliver, Paducah, KY, Two Daughters & Sons-In-Law- Debra & Dan Thomas, Marietta, GA,  Karen & John Caudill, Prestonsburg, KY, Ten Grandchildren- Luke Thomas, Caleb Thomas, Allison Pinkston, Jeremy Caudill, Denise Thorpe, Stephanie Oliver, Debra Oliver, Graham Oliver, Dylan Oliver & Caroline Oliver, Five Great Grandchildren- Haley Pinkston, Zachary Pinkston, Cooper Caudill, Tucker Caudill & Ella Kate Thomas.  He was preceded in death by: Father - Amos Oliver, Mother - Susie V. Oliver, Foster Brother - Henry Ellis Oliver & Two Sisters -Thelma Beatrice Oliver & Ruby Louise Oliver. 

Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main St. -P.O. Box 2050 Cadiz, KY 42211-031 in Cadiz, KY where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, March 21, 2014.  Funeral  Service will be at Goodwin Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Saturday, March 22, 2014 with the Rev. Greg Creekmur officiating.  Burial will follow at Trigg Memory Acres in Cadiz, KY.  Memorial Contributions can be made to:   Pennyroyal Hospice, 220 Burley Avenue, Hopkinsville, KY 42240.

I received this sad news from Sug Wadlington earlier today. I think of all of you daily remembering with such fond memories our short time in Trigg County. It still is my very favorite place in this world next to our home state of Michigan. Both the place and the wonderful lifetime friends that we made while there.
