Dotty Overbey McCormick, age 84, of Wallonia, Kentucky, passed away Monday, January 30, 2017, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville, Kentucky. Mrs. McCormick worked as a secretary at the Cerulean Rock Quarry and at the Ft. Campbell army base; however, most of her years were spent helping her husband, Lewis, and son, Edward, on the family farm in Wallonia. She was a member of Wallonia Baptist Church where she participated in the WMU, assisted in Vacation Bible School, and taught the Preschool Children's Sunday School class for many years.
She is survived by: her husband - Lewis E. McCormick, Sr., Wallonia; two sons - Lewis Edward McCormick, Jr., Wallonia; and Patrick McCormick (Holly), Cadiz; one daughter - Andrea McCormick, Nashville, Tennessee; and three grandsons - Garrett McCormick, Reid McCormick, and Cameron McCormick.
She was preceded in death by her parents - Albert P. and Eula Smith Overbey.
Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home and Crematory, 138 Main Street in Cadiz, where the family will receive friends after 4:00 PM Tuesday, January 31, 2017. The funeral service will be at Goodwin Funeral Home and Crematory at 1:00 PM Wednesday, February 1, 2017 with the Reverend Harold Greenfield and Reverend Kirk Greenfield officiating. Burial will follow at Wall Cemetery in Wallonia.
