Celia Moore Hopson, age 87, of Cadiz, KY, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at Shady Lawn Nursing Center in Cadiz, KY. Mrs. Hopson was a retired educator that had taught at the Trigg Co. School System. She also founded and taught the first kindergarten in Trigg County, held at the Cadiz United Methodist Church. She shared in the management of the Forest Dale Farm and Hopson Family Farm, located in Canton, KY. She was a member of the Cadiz Christian Church, where she was one of the first women to serve as a deacon. She served on the Christian Women's Fellowship group at the Church, was a member of the Cadiz Women's Club, DAR, Trigg Co. Gardener's Club and was one of the founding board members of the John L. Street Library in Cadiz, KY. She is survived by: Son & Daughter-In-Law- W. Howell Hopson, III & Geneva Parris, Cadiz, KY, Brother & Sister-In-Law - Dr. Bacon & Paula Moore, Harrodsburg, KY, Sister - Nan Oldham, Washington, DC, Two Grandchildren- Eli Hopson & Wife-Sarah Preis, Washington, DC & Shawn Perry, Cadiz, KY & Three Great Grandchildren- Belinda Perry, Alexander Perry & Isaac Preis Hopson. She was preceded in death by: Father - Bacon Rochester Moore, II, Mother - Eula Conley Moore, Husband of fifty nine- Winthrop H. Hopson, II, Brother-In-Law & Sister-In-Law- W.J. & Mary Nell Hopson. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM Saturday, January 18, 2014 & on Sunday, January 19, 2014 from 1:00 PM until the funeral time of 2:00 PM at the Cadiz Christian Church in Cadiz, KY. Funeral Service will be at Cadiz Christian Church at 2:00 PM Sunday, January 19, 2014 with Dr. Tom Martin officiating. Burial will follow at East End Cemetery in Cadiz, KY.
