Bro. Irvin C. Darnall

Bro. Irvin C. Darnall, age 86, of Cadiz, KY, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2015, at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, KY.  Bro. Irvin was a retired minister & carpenter from the Carpenters Local 442 of Hopkinsville, KY.  Much of his life was spent involved in the ministry where he surrendered to preach at New Hope Baptist Church in Trigg Co., KY.  During those years, Bro. Irvin served as church pastor at Rock Front Baptist Church, Donaldson Creek Baptist Church, Wallonia Baptist Church, South Union Baptist Church & most recently at Maple Grove Baptist Church, all located in Trigg Co., KY.  In between service at those churches, he also served as pastor at a mission in Marion, KY & two churches in Golden Pond, KY, Furgerson Springs Baptist Church & Cumberland Baptist Church.  He served in the US Army during the United States occupation of Japan.  He was a member of Maple Grove Baptist Church &  the Woodman of the World & had served on both, the Trigg Co. Hospital Board & the Trigg Co. Planning & Zoning Commission.   He is survived by: Wife of 64 years - Geneva Carr Darnall, Cadiz, KY, Three Sons- Layton Darnall, Winamac, IN, Steve Darnall & wife, Debbie, Cadiz, KY, Stacey Darnall & wife, Julie, Madisonville, KY, One Daughter - Sherry Skinner & husband, Roger, Cadiz, KY, Seven Grandchildren- Bradley Darnall, Jonathan Darnall, Jordan Darnall, Daniel Croft, Matthew Skinner, Jacquelyn "J.J." Milan & Sharaya Timm, Three Great Grandchildren- Owen Timm, Olivia Timm, Kiara Milan & One Sister - Addie Pearl Harris, Hopkinsville, KY.  He was preceded in death by: Father - Elder J.N. "Nuck" Darnall, Mother - Lou Ella Dixon Darnall, One Granddaughter- Lindsey Darnall,  Six Brothers- Jesse Darnall, Clayton Darnall, Elias Darnall, Elwood Darnall, Joe Darnall & Roy Eugene Darnall & one sister in infancy.  Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main St. in Cadiz, KY where the family will receive friends after 4:00 PM on Tuesday, January 27, 2015.  Funeral  Service will be at Goodwin Funeral Home at  2:00 PM Wednesday, January 28, 2015 with the Reverend Denny Francis & Reverend Greg Giltner officiating.  Burial with full military honors will follow at East End  Cemetery in Cadiz, KY.  Memorial Contributions can be made to:  Cadiz Gideon Camp, PO Box 65, Cadiz, KY 42211 or Maple Grove Baptist Church, PO Box 2187, Cadiz, KY  42211.

I've known Brother Irvin all my Life...he Pastored the Church my dad helped to build the Maple Grove Baptist church for many years an will be so greatly missed by many...tis a sad day indeed to lose a Man of Brother Irvins caliber...I'd always call him or he me whenever one of us found a good deal on watermelons an let the other know...I will miss his phone calls,visits an just being there....a lot a whole lot )-; May you Rest in Peace Brother Irvin in Perfect Peace May God Bless the Family R.Dale Bridges Cadiz Ky

Mr Irvin Darnall was a fine gentleman. He is loved by many people, touched the hearts and inspired countless, and will be missed by all. He seemed to always be happy and smiling. He has a wonderful wife, sons, daughter and large extended family and wish you all the best. Sincerely.

Stacey, So sorry to hear about your father's passing. My thoughts and prayers will be with you at this time. I know how difficult it is to lose a parent. I lost my father 19 tears ago this month and I still think of him often.
