Robert Louis “Bob” Kennedy, 79, of Paducah, formerly of Cadiz, KY, died Tuesday at his home. Bob was born in Trigg County on October 15, 1932 to the late Durward Belmont Kennedy and Clarice Henderson Kennedy. Bob proudly served in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War and Korean War. He attained the rank of Sergeant First Class and retired from the Army National Guard. He was a carpenter and attended Southland Baptist Temple. Surviving are four children, Lisa Wiggins, Michael Kennedy and wife Vickie Fulton Kennedy, Clayton “Tim” Kennedy and wife Laura Skinner Kennedy, and D’Wayne Barry Kennedy and wife Diane Ellington Kennedy all of Paducah; a sister, Edna Terrell and husband Charles of Cadiz; three brothers, Carroll “Mac” Kennedy, James “Rod” Kennedy, and Kenneth Kennedy all of Cadiz; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, nine step great-grandchildren, one step great-great grandson; and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his wife, Cordie Jeanne Sherbut Kennedy; a sister, Hettie Maria Roth; and five brothers, Audrey Gene Kennedy, David Kennedy, Carloss Kennedy, Lucian Kennedy, and Wade Kennedy; and his parents. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 5-8 pm at Lone Oak Chapel of Milner and Orr Funeral Home. Visitation will resume at 10am Saturday with funeral services at 1pm Saturday at Blue Spring Baptist Church in Caldwell, KY. Burial with military honors will follow at Blue Spring Baptist Church Cemetery.
