Betty Winder Hodge, age 89, of Cadiz, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2017, at Shady Lawn Nursing Center in Cadiz. Mrs. Hodge was a homemaker and former co-owner and operator of Handy Korner Market in the Rockcastle community of Trigg County. She had been an active member of the TOPS Club and was a member of Princeton General Baptist Church in Princeton, Kentucky.
She is survived by two daughters, Christine Ladd (Clayton) and Gayl DeSpain (W.J.), both of Cadiz; seven grandchildren, Dana Radford (Kevin), Louisville, Kentucky, Hanna Hale (Kris), Ft. Irwin, California, Mindy Sanborn (Paul), Bowling Green, Kentucky, Patrick DeSpain (Tammy), Jared DeSpain, Kesha Ladd, and Kendra Terrell (Kevin), all of Cadiz; 10 great grandchildren, Bobbi Jo Matlock, Benna Lynn Matlock, Abi Sanborn, Jordan DeSpain, Aaron DeSpain, Joseph DeSpain, Daniel DeSpain, Landry Terrell, Annie Terrell, and Adrian Hale; a great-great granddaughter, Harper Lynn Matlock; two brothers, Charles Winder, Iowa, and Richard Winder, Missouri; and one sister, Carolyn Smith (Doyle), Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lyman and Virgie Stock Winder, her husband, the Reverend Bennie Hodge, and her son, Michael Hodge.
Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main Street in Cadiz, where the family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM Saturday, April 29, 2017. The funeral service will be at Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc. at 1:00 PM Saturday, April 29, 2017, with the Reverend Norman Cotton officiating. Burial will follow at Trigg Memory Acres in Cadiz.
