Andrew Vincent Cross, age 50, of Oak Grove, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at his home in Oak Grove. Sergeant Cross was active in the Tennessee Army National Guard and was most recently assigned to Troop B Support Squadron, 278th ACR, as a heavy diesel mechanic. Prior to his National Guard assignment, SGT Cross served in the Regular Army, with tours in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife, Elisha Burnam Cross of Oak Grove, Kentucky; three sons, Matthew Riffe of Elfrida, Arizona, Taylor Riffe and Vincent Cross, both of Oak Grove; four daughters, Mc Kayla Candelario of Panama City, Florida, Gwendolyn Cross, Mc Kenzie Cross, and Madison Cross, all of Oak Grove; one sister, Rebecca Cross of New Jersey; father-in-law, Jerry Burnam of Cadiz, Kentucky; and mother-in-law, Bonnie Hairfield (Jim) of Gracey, Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Roseann Sandusky Cross.
Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main Street in Cadiz, where the family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 22, 2017. Funeral services will be at Goodwin Funeral Home at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 22, 2017, with Dr. Jimmy Gentry officiating, and eulogy by Mc Kayla Candelario. Burial with full military honors will follow at East End Cemetery in Cadiz.
