Herbert W. "Herb" Covington

Herbert W. "Herb" Covington, age 72, of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2017, at Tri Star Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

Michael F. Bujnowski

Michael F. Bujnowski, age 55, of Cadiz, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at his home.

Mr. Bujnowski retired from the water works operations of the City of Sunrise, Florida.  He was a United States Navy veteran and was of the Catholic faith.

He is survived by his mother, Pauline Kane of Davie, Florida; one sister, Christie (Shane) Roberts of Cadiz; special friend, Jean Ramstad of Paris, Tennessee; and nephew and niece, Jack Hollis Roberts and Amy Paulina Roberts,both of Cadiz.

He was preceded in death by his father, Francis Leo Bujnowski.

"Genia" Lucy Sedberry Wagner

"Genia" Lucy Sedberry Wagner, age 62, of Princeton, Kentucky, and formerly of Trigg County, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2017, at Baptist Health Hospital in Madisonville, Kentucky.

Mrs. Wagner was a co-founder, along with her husband David and Frank "Tug" Greer, of Southern Exterminators in Cadiz.  She was the owner of Elbow Room Ceramics and had previously worked at K-Mart in Hopkinsville.  Genia was a former Boy Scout Leader in Trigg County and was a member of Quinn Baptist Church in Princeton.

Thomas Burton "Tommy" Schmittou

Thomas Burton "Tommy" Schmittou, age 56, of Whites Creek, Tennessee, and formerly of Cadiz, Kentucky, passed away Friday, December 8, 2017, at his home in Whites Creek.  Mr. Schmittou worked as an optician at Lenscrafters at Green Hills Mall in Nashville, Tennessee, for more than 15 years.  He was a 1980 graduate of Trigg County High School and was of the Catholic faith.

William "Bill" Vires

Bill Vires, age 63, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, passed away Friday, December 1, 2017, at his home.  Bill was loved by many.  He accepted the challenges of life, and through those challenges, he taught everyone to appreciate the simple joys and that by looking past the difficulties, you will find the true beauty of living.

Mary Jones

Mary Jones, age 83, of Cadiz, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2017, at her home.  Mrs. Jones retired from Lake Barkley State Resort Park where she worked in the Housekeeping Department for over 37 years.  She was a member of Blue Spring Baptist Church in Caldwell County.

Charles C. Williams

Charles C. Williams, age 78, of Cadiz, Kentucky, passed away Monday, November 27, 2017, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.  Mr. Williams earned his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Bowling Green University. He retired  from Elk Brand Manufacturing in Cadiz and Hopkinsville as Office/Plant Manager after 47 years of service. Mr. Williams was a devoted member of Cadiz Baptist Church, where he served on the finance committee and as church treasurer for more than 30 years.

Billie Lou Luttrell

Billie Lou Luttrell, age 86, of Cadiz, Kentucky, passed away Monday, November 20, 2017, at Shady Lawn Nursing Center in Cadiz.  Mrs. Luttrell had previously worked as a housekeeper at Vacation Club International and at Lake Barkley State Resort Park.  She retired as a health care nurse's aide from Shady Lawn Nursing Center and as a private home health caregiver.   

She is survived by caregivers and nieces, Carolyn (Donald) Bridges and Alice (David) Johnson, both of Cadiz, and by many other very special nieces and nephews.

Truman W. Humphries

Truman Warren Humphries, 86, of Oroville, California, formerly of Napa, California, and a native of Trigg County, passed away Saturday, November 4, 2017 in Oroville.  Mr. Humphries was a naval paint inspector for the United States government.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and flying model planes.

He is survived by two sons, Thomas Humphries and Jason Humphries, and four grandchildren, Marie Humphries, Colby Humphries, Caden Humphries, and Camden Humphries.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas S. and Edda Marie Freeman Humphries.

James D. Bohner

James D. Bohner, age 67, of Cadiz, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at his home in Cadiz.  Mr. Bohner was a welder and a United States Army veteran.

He is survived by one daughter, Deborah (John) Dana of Cadiz; one grandson, Eric Dana, U.S. Navy, San Antonio, Texas; one granddaughter, Britani Dana of Longview, Texas; and one sister, Linda (John) Swank of Sunbury, Pennsylvania.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Martha Bohner, and two brothers, Earl Bohner and Gary Bohner.

Arron Hammond

Arron Hammond, age 75, of Cadiz, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at Shady Lawn Nursing Center in Cadiz.  Mr. Hammond was a United States Navy veteran and a member of Liberty Point Baptist Church in Cadiz.

He is survived by his daughter, Rhonda (David) Jones of Bowling Green, Kentucky; a granddaughter, Mallory Jones of Bowling Green; four brothers, Cecil (Patsy) Hammond of Cadiz, Doug (Lee Ann) Hammond of Providence, Kentucky, Willard (Judy) Hammond of Bardwell, Kentucky, and Darrell (Dee) Hammond of Cadiz; and one sister, Bobbie Jean Thomas of Cadiz.

Elbert Adams

Elbert Adams, age 78, of Cadiz, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at Trigg Manor in Cadiz.  Mr. Adams was a life-long farmer and steward of the land.  He was a United States Army veteran and a member of Wallonia Christian Church in Trigg County.

He is survived by four brothers, Jessie (Linda) Adams of Cadiz, Decatur "D.C." Adams of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, Walter "Mort" Adams of Cadiz, and David (Beth) Adams of Madisonville, Kentucky; two sisters, Iva Nell West of Cadiz, and Martha (James) Lumpkin of North Little Rock, Arkansas; and several nieces and nephews.

Herchel Leon "Jack" Leneave

Herchel Leon "Jack" Leneave, age 90, of Crestview, Florida, a native of Cadiz, Kentucky, passed away Friday, November 3, 2017, at his home in Crestview.  Mr. Leneave served in the United States Armed Forces for 24 years and among his many medals and awards were one Silver Star, two Bronze Stars, and the Purple Heart.  He had the honor of serving under Generals Patton, LeMay, Clark, and Westmoreland.
