Rodney B. Darnell

Rodney B. Darnell, age 64, of Cadiz, KY, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2017, at Saint Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, TN.  Mr. Darnell was the co-owner of D & D Sanitation in Cadiz, a business he started in 1977.  He was a member of the Trigg County Chamber of Commerce and past member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles.  Rodney was a strong supporter and donor to many Trigg County youth athletic programs and projects in the community for many years.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Diane Darnell of Cadiz; one son, Reggie (Kim) Darnell of Cadiz; two daughters, Tami (Bruce) Bauer of Cadiz, and Sheri Darnell; and two grandchildren, Kip Cole Darnell and Ashlee Wyatt.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard "Bubby" Darnell; his mother, Virginia Stewart Deweese; his step mother, Rowena Darnell; one sister, Debby Cooper; and his maternal grandparents, Bennie and Alma  Stewart.

Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main Street in Cadiz, where the family will receive friends after 4:00 PM on Saturday, January 6, 2018.  The funeral service will be at Goodwin Funeral Home at  2:00 PM Sunday, January 7, 2018, with Reverend Norman Cotton and Reverend Johnny Hawkins officiating.  Burial will follow in Rollin Acres Darnell Family Cemetery on Rollin Acres Farm in Cadiz.
